CYCLONES WIN HOME FINALE

CINCINNATI, OH – The Cyclones took down the K-Wings 3-2 on Friday night inside the Heritage Bank Center. Cincinnati improves to 3-4-2-0 against Kalamazoo with more matchup to come.

* It took until the final minute of the 1st period for the opening goal. Noah Kane converted off a turnover in the slot and wristed his 2nd professional goal past Jonathan Lemieux. The Cincy defense was superb in the opening 40 minutes, holding Kalamazoo to just eight shots throughout the opening two frames.

* In the 3rd period and while shorthanded, Patrick Polino and Sahil Panwar jumped in on a shorthanded rush. Polino waited to the last second, before serving a backhand across the ice for Panwar to push home and double the lead at 2-0.

* With ten minutes to go, Ted Nichol poked in a loose rebound past Talyn Boyko and brought Kalamazoo back within one goal. With the goaltender pulled, Polino put the game on ice with an empty netter. Erik Bradford added a goal with 1:25 remaining to make it 3-2. Boyko and the defense shut the door and the rookie goaltender shut the door, finishing with 18 saves.

Up next, Cincinnati heads out on a four-game road trip. The Cyclones and the Wings drop the puck Saturday April 6th at 7:00pm ET in Kalamazoo.
