LINCOLN GRIFFIN RETURNS TO CINCINNATI

CINCINNATI, OH – The Cincinnati Cyclones announced today the signing of forward Lincoln Griffin ahead of the 2024-25 season. Griffin becomes the first skater to ink a contract with the Cyclones for next season.

“Cincinnati is a second home. It was a pretty easy decision to come back”, said Griffin. “I’m hoping we can win a championship for Cincy. I think that would be an incredible thing for the city, for the guys and the fans. That motivated me to come back and give it another shot.”

Lincoln returns to Cincinnati for his fourth season wearing the black and red. A versatile forward, the lefty brings powerplay scoring, penalty killing minutes and 51 Cyclones’ goals and 114 points.

In 2023, Lincoln was named Cincinnati’s representative at the ECHL All-Star Classic in Norfolk. Before rejoining the club last season, the Walpole, Massachusetts native skated in 12 games with HK Nitra in Slovakia.

Head coach Jason Payne says Griffin “does what's asked of him and finds success in all areas. Doesn't matter if it's five-on-five, power play, penalty kill; we know we can rely on Lincoln to be effective and produce.”

Prior to being claimed off waivers by the ‘Clones in December of 2021, the winger had stints with Greenville and Worcester in the ECHL and Knoxville and Roanoke in the SPHL.

Griffin spent four years playing collegiately at Northeastern University in Boston and won the NCAA Hockey East Championship his freshman and senior years.
