LANDON CATO BACK IN A ‘CLONES UNIFORM

LANDON CATO BACK IN A ‘CLONES UNIFORM

CINCINNATI, OH – The Cincinnati Cyclones announced today the signing of defenseman Landon Cato ahead of the 2024-25 season. Cato becomes the second defenseman to sign a contract with the Cyclones for next season along with Steven MacLean.

“Last year I got a good amount of games in and I’m hoping to play every game this year. I’m trying to get ready for that”, said Cato. “It’s a big jump from junior to pro so just learning those little things on how to take care of your body and learning from some of the older guys in our dressing room that have been there before is great.”

Landon is fresh off his rookie season where he skated in 32 games with the Cyclones, picking up three assists. The right-handed defenseman made his pro debut last November 4th in a home victory against Iowa, while also recording his first ECHL point 12 seconds into the game.

Cato was with the OHL's Niagara IceDogs since 2019, including the 2022-23 campaign where the Toronto, Ontario native served as captain. In three seasons, Landon recorded 21 points (2g, 19a) and was a steady presence on the Niagara blue line.
