LOUIE CAPORUSSO IS BACK IN BLACK AND RED

CINCINNATI, OH – The Cincinnati Cyclones announced today the signing of forward Louie Caporusso ahead of the 2024-25 season. Caporusso becomes the second forward to ink a contract with the Cyclones for next season along with Lincoln Griffin.

"Ultimately I realized that I have a lot of life to live not playing and I only have so many years left that I could play," said Caporusso on his decision to return. "I have a little boy now and I just thought, you know, it would be sweet to play in front of him and there's nothing that I love more than playing hockey."

Caporusso begins his fourth straight season with the Cyclones following a stretch of seven years playing overseas. The Toronto native’s season was shortened due to injury last year where he played 34 games and recorded 29 points (10g, 19a).

The 34-year-old is 6th all-time for scoring in Cyclones history with 167 points. His 112 assists put him in top ten for helpers in the franchise along with ten game-winning-goals.

Head coach Jason Payne says Caporusso’s “compete level motivates those around him. I see some of our younger players gravitate towards him and try to emulate his energy and work ethic.”

Caporusso was selected by the Ottawa Senators in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Louie has played over 500 professional games in AHL, DEL, Italy, and ECHL. Since joining the Cyclones in 2021, Caporusso has served as one of the team's alternate captains.
