PATRICK BAJKOV SELECTS CINCINNATI

CINCINNATI, OH – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced today the signing of forward Patrick Bajkov ahead of the 2024-25 season. The center brings seasons of ECHL experience and years playing in Europe.

Bajkov spent the 2023-24 season overseas with two different clubs. He began the year skating six games for HK Nitra in Slovakia. Following his stint to start the season, the 26-year-old joined the Guildford Flames in the EIHL. Patrick recorded 23 points (7g, 16a) throughout 46 games with the Flames and picked a pair of assists during the postseason as well.

“Understanding that if history does repeat itself, they’ll be some young talent coming through, that will be awesome to see”, said Bajkov. “The young kids these days, it’s crazy how good they are… surrounded by the guys who have signed, it’s something special in the making here.”

A native of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Bajkov played in Sweden during the 2022-23 season and earned 25 points. Before his time in Europe, Patrick spent the majority of his career in the ECHL between the Manchester Monarchs, Florida Everblades, Greenville Swamp Rabbits and Reading Royals.

The righty-shooter has also 19 games of AHL experience, most of those with the Springfield Thunderbirds. Bajkov’s best professional year came with the Royals in 2021-22 where he put up 69 points (26g, 43a) in 71 games. He led the club in regular season scoring and was top three in playoff points.

Before making the jump to pro, the winger had an impressive WHL career with the Everett Silvertips. Over five seasons in the Pacific Northwest, Bajkov racked up an impressive 288 points. In his final year with the team, Patrick had a 100-point season and wore the “A” for the Silvertips.
