Cincinnati, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones today announced the acquisition of forward Austen Swankler from the Worcester Railers.
Swankler, 23, joins the Cyclones after beginning his professional career with the Fort Wayne Komets. A native of North Huntingdon, Penn., Swankler briefly joined the Railers before joining the Cyclones. In three ECHL games played, the forward has two goals and an assist to his credit this season.
“Austen is a hard-working forward that brings a different dynamic to our lineup,” said Head Coach Jason Payne. “He’s had a good start to the season and we hope that carries over into his time with us in Cincinnati.”
Prior to making his professional debut, Swankler played three seasons at the NCAA Division I level, including two seasons with Bowling Green University and one with MIchigan Tech. At the collegiate level, Swankler recorded 27 goals and 43 assists in his three seasons.
Following a 26-point freshman season in 2021-22, Swankler received CCHA All-Rookie honors with Bowling Green. The next season, he was named to the CCHA First All-Star Team. At the junior level, Swankler won the Clark Cup (USHL) with the Sioux Falls Stampede.
