Cincinnati, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones today announced a trade with the Tahoe Knights Monsters. The Cyclones will acquire forward Chris Dodero and defenseman Elijah Vilio in exchange for defenseman Matt Murphy.
Dodero, 28, hails from Chicago, Ill. and joins the Cyclones after recording three goals and three assists in 15 games played with the Knight Monsters this season. A three-time Atlantic Hockey Association conference champion with American International College, the Illinois native is in his first full season playing professionally in the United States.
Vilio, currently in his fourth professional season, joins Cincinnati after recording four assists with Tahoe during the 2024-25 season. The Abbotsford, British Columbia native will join his sixth ECHL franchise after making appearances with Atlanta, Rapid City, Norfolk, Savannah, and Tahoe. In four seasons, Vilio has 17 goals and 32 assists at the ECHL level as he joins the Cyclones.
The Cyclones return to Heritage Bank Center on Tuesday night for back-to-back games against the Iowa Heartlanders. The Cyclones will kickstart a busy four-game week of games that include two games against Iowa on home ice. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. ET.
