CYCLONES COMPLETE FUTURE CONSIDERATIONS TRADES, SELECT TWO PLAYERS FROM ORLANDO

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones today announced, in conjunction with the ECHL, the completion of their future considerations deals for the 2024-25 season. The Cyclones have completed their trades with the Orlando Solar Bears and claimed rights to two players.

  • The Cincinnati Cyclones have selected forward Alex Frye from the Orlando Solar Bears.
  • The Cincinnati Cyclones have selected defenseman Cory Thomas from the Orlando Solar Bears.

The Cyclones have acquired the ECHL rights to forward Alex Frye from the Orlando Solar Bears. The acquisition completes an earlier trade that saw Cincinnati send goaltender Jon Gillies to Orlando. Frye, 26, completed his second full professional season with Orlando. In 142 games with the Solar Bears, Frye amassed 67 points (32 goals, 35 assists) and logged 92 PIM across his tenure. 

In addition, the Cyclones have acquired defenseman Cory Thomas from Orlando. A member of the 2024-25 Kelly Cup Championship-winning team, Thomas recorded a goal and four assists in 47 games played. In the postseason, Thomas made 12 appearances en route to the Lions’ championship.Thomas was selected by Orlando, before being selected by Cincinnati to complete the trade for forward Brian Chambers.
