CYCLONES DROP SATURDAY NIGHT TILT AGAINST TOLEDO

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones dropped their second matchup of the weekend against the Toledo Walleye on Saturday night at Heritage Bank Center. A 7-1 final score would wrap up the Throwback Weekend for the Cyclones on home ice. 

  • A three-goal first period gave Toledo an early advantage over the Cyclones. Nate Roy, Conlan Keenan and Jacques Bouquot would score the three goals for the Walleye to give them a 3-0 lead heading into the second period. 
     
  • Tommy Scarfone would come in relief for Kyle McClellan after the first period. Denis Smirnov would tally one more for the Walleye to make it 4-0, Toledo.
     
  • Ben King scored his ninth goal of the season to record Cincinnati’s lone goal of the game. Zack Trott was credited with the primary assist on the play. King notched his first goal since Dec. 12 against the Kalamazoo Wings, snapping a five-game goalless skid. 
     
  • Toledo would score three more in the final period with Nate Roy scoring his second of the game. Later in the game, Jordan Ernst and Jed Pietila would round out the scoring to extend Toledo’s win streak to nine games. 

The Cyclones will head to Fort Wayne for a road contest on Jan. 9. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. ET and can be streamed on FloHockey and the Cyclones Radio Network.
