CYCLONES RESPOND ON THE ROAD, DEFEAT WALLEYE 4-3 ON SATURDAY NIGHT
TOLEDO, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones defeated the Toledo Walleye, 4-3, with a character victory over their division rival on Saturday night at the Huntington Center. A four-point performance from Sam Stevens highlighted Cincinnati’s victory over the Fish.

Cincinnati got the game started with a goal just 10 seconds into a regulation. Right off the opening draw, Stevens fed Nick Rheaume (10) on a two-on-one to give Cincinnati a rapid lead on the road. With that goal, Rheaume logged Cincinnati’s quickest goal of the season so far.

Toledo would draw level near the midway mark of the first period. Johnny Waldron (3) scored his third goal against Cincinnati this season to tie the game up at 1-1.

A busy first period resumed with Cincinnati taking the lead right back. Sam Stevens (8) scored his second goal of the weekend on a five-hole shot that fooled Matt Jurusik. With his goal, Stevens now has two multi-point outings in his last five games.

Toledo would respond again less than three minutes later. The response came off a shot from Tanner Kelly (15) that would tie the game up at 2-2 and take the game tied headed into the second period.
-
Ryan Kirwan (17) would give Cincinnati their third lead of the game in the middle frame. A great finish from the first-year pro gave the Cyclones the lead but it would be short lived. Toledo’s Nate Roy (9) cashed in on a breakaway to tie the game heading into the final frame.
-
Nick Rheaume (11) scored the eventual game-winning goal on a rebound off the pad of Matt Jurusik created by Ryan Kirwan. Sam Stevens logged the secondary assist to finish off his four-point game.
