CYCLONES SIGN DEFENSEMAN MITCHELL WOLFE OUT OF BEMIDJI STATE UNIVERSITY
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, today announced that the team has signed defenseman Mitchell Wolfe to a Standard Player Contract. Wolfe joins the Cyclones after spending his last four seasons at Bemidji State University (NCAA DI).
Wolfe, 23, spent last season as the assistant captain of the Bemidji State Beavers. In his final collegiate season, Wolfe recorded two goals and five assists (seven points) while patrolling the blueline. He would finish his time with the Beavers logging 138 appearances, notching five goals and 23 assists (28 points) throughout the course of his tenure. In college, he was a three-time CCHA All-Academic Team honoree, and a three-time CCHA Defenseman of the Week recipient.
Before making his way to the Division I level, Wolfe started his junior career with Minnesota Wilderness (NAHL). After a brief stint, he would spend the majority of his time with the Des Moines Buccaneers (USHL), where he spent two full seasons. His most productive season was in 2021-22, where he led the team in points by a defenseman with seven goals and 16 assists (23 points).
