‘CLONES ADD FORWARD NATHAN BURKE AHEAD OF 2026-27 CAMPAIGN
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud ECHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, today announced that forward Nathan Burke has signed with the team ahead of the 2026-27 season. With his signing, Burke is set to join his fourth ECHL franchise by signing with Cincinnati.
Burke, 27, will join the Cyclones after spending last season with Pioneers Vorarlberg of the ICEHL. During his 2025-26 campaign, he recorded six goals, four assists (10 points) over the span of 19 games played overseas. Before he went to Europe, the Scottsdale, Ariz. native recorded 22 goals and 17 assists (39 points) in 64 games with the Indy Fuel in 64 games during the 2024-25 season.
“Nathan has shown that he can find the back of the net at every level he has played. He led the NAHL in goals, was a consistent scorer at Bowling Green and has produced in both the ECHL and AHL,” said Cyclones Head Coach Riley Weselowski. “He is a natural goal scorer with an excellent release, great timing around the net and the ability to beat goaltenders clean from in tight. His versatility allows him to play center or wing, giving us flexibility across three interchangeable scoring lines. We also expect him to play an important role in the middle of our power play."
“The injury that ended Nathan’s season early was obviously difficult, but it seems to have lit a new spark in him. He has spent long days at the rink this summer working with youth players, and you can feel how much he genuinely loves being there,” he added. “That joy is contagious and extremely valuable during the marathon of an ECHL season. Nathan is hungry, focused and excited to see how far he can push his career. We believe he has the potential to have a career year, and adding a proven goal scorer with his size and versatility gives us important offensive depth throughout our lineup.”
Before he joined the pro ranks, Burke recorded 46 goals and 34 assists (80 points) over the span of his five seasons in college hockey. His most productive season came in his senior season, when he recorded a career-best 17 goals and 29 total points with Bowling Green State University. In addition to his impressive collegiate career, Burke has 11 games played in the AHL, where he’s played for the San Jose Barracuda and the Ontario Reign.
