CYCLONES OPEN SEASON WITH ROAD WIN, PANWAR RECORDS THREE POINTS IN 4-3 VICTORY OVER INDY

FISHERS, Ind. (Oct. 17, 2026) - The Cincinnati Cyclones opened their 2026-27 campaign with a 4-3 road victory over the Indy Fuel on Saturday night. Forward Sahil Panwar would highlight the victory following a stellar three-point performance (1g, 2a) in his return to the Cincinnati Cyclones.

  • Matt Anderson (1) opened the scoring for Cincinnati with a five hole finish that fooled Thomas Gale. Finishing off a feed from Ryan Kirwan and Sahil Panwar, Anderson scored his first ECHL goal since Dec. 6, 2025.

  • Sahil Panwar (1) would record his second point of the period with a seeing-eye shot from the left circle. He picked the corner to record an unassisted goal that gave Cincinnati a two-goal lead heading into the second period.

  • The Fuel got one back early in the second period from Cody Laskosky (1), but Jackson Kunz (1) would respond on the power play. A shot from the point from Matt Anderson was beautifully redirected by Kunz, with Adam Kydd getting the secondary assist on the play.

  • The third period saw a lot of action, starting with Cody Laskosky (2) scoring his second of the game at the 13:59 mark. Ryan Kirwan (1) scored in the empty net to record the eventual game-winning goal, with assists to Matt Copponi and Sahil Panwar. Mitchell Hoelscher (1) scored one to make it a one-goal game, but Cincinnati would slam the door to take the two points.

  • Timofei Obvintsev would make 15 saves in the victory, recording his first professional victory in North America. The young goaltender made quality saves in his Cyclones debut to preserve the win.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on 19.3 The Rock and the Cyclones Radio Network. The game will additionally be streamed on FloHockey as well.
