CYCLONES RECORD FIRST HOME WIN OF THE SEASON, DEFEAT FUEL 4-1

CINCINNATI, Ohio (Oct. 28, 2026) - The Cincinnati Cyclones defeated the Indy Fuel, 4-1, on Wednesday night at Heritage Bank Center. The Cyclones recorded their first home victory of the season off the momentum of a three-point performance from Sahil Panwar and a two-goal effort from Matt Copponi.

  • The Cyclones recorded the lone goal of the opening period. Forward Nathan Burke (1) scored his first goal of the season against his former team. His tally came on the power play to give Cincinnati their third PPG of the campaign. Joe Miller recorded his first professional point with the secondary assist on the play.

  • 2:19 into the second period, forward Sahil Panwar (3) scored to make it a 2-0 lead for the Cyclones early in the middle frame. John Spetz and Mitchell Wolfe recorded assists, extending Wolfe’s point streak to three consecutive games.

  • With his goal, Panwar extended his point streak to four games. In addition, Panwar recorded his third multi-point performance of the season. Indy would get one back before the end of the second period, off a tally from Chase Dafoe (2).

  • Matt Copponi (1) provided insurance for the Cyclones with his first goal of the season. A re-directed shot from the point fooled Adam Gajan to make it a 3-1 lead. Defenseman Frank Djurasevic and Sahil Panwar recorded assists on the play.

  • The Cyclones would ice the game with an empty net finish from Matt Copponi. With his goal, he became the first Cyclone to record a multi-goal performance this season. Ryan Kirwan logged an assist to keep his point-per-game pace with his fourth point of the campaign.

  • Goaltender Timofei Obvintsev made 20 saves in the victory and logged his second victory of the season. With his 11-save third period, Obvintsev earned third star honors to kickstart a three-game week for the Cyclones.

Cincinnati will head to West Virginia for a Halloween matchup against the Wheeling Nailers. Puck drop is scheduled for Saturday night at 7:10 p.m. ET at the WesBanco Arena. The game can be streamed on FloHockey and the Cyclones Radio Network.
